Hit With Me reflects on 2024 goals
It’s been a fantastic year for Hit With Me on and off the court.
I set myself a challenge this year to continue growing my expertise in the coaching space here in Australia.
In November 2022 I completed the Tennis Australia Community Coach qualification, which helped me build upon my exisiting coaching skills to teach and develop young tennis players in Geelong and Melbourne.
Fast forward to October 2024 and I am approaching completion of the Tennis Australia Development Coach course, a 18-week commitment involving practical and theory based tennis training every Friday at Melbourne Park. It has definitely been a worthwhile commitment as my depth in knowledge of executing training drills and performing technique based assessment has taken big steps over the past 6 months.
In terms of implementing this knowledge and providing value to the Australian tennis community I took on the challenge of two different Head Coach roles at venues on the Bellarine Peninsula (Victoria) that had found themselves lacking participation, tennis members, and coaching leadership. In one year of coaching around my HWM influencer commitments, I’ve grown both programs substantially and provided learning opportunities to future generations of tennis players.
Despite having Australia based commitments in completing the Development Course and sustaining a coaching program at my venues, I am happy I was able to fit in multiple tennis trips throughout the year including Australian Open 2024, Indian Wells ATP/WTA1000, Madrid Open ATP/WTA1000 and most recently the 2024 US Open.
As I look ahead to the Aussie summer of tennis and AO2025 I’m feeling motivated to step up my content creation scope @hitwithme and @samuelbegg as I take on what’s always my busiest time of the year as one of Australia’s largest tennis influencers.
Thank you as always for the support of my followers and the people who support me in what I do, without you all I wouldn't be working for myself within the best sport in the world.
